The House of Speed (HOS) is headed to the 2023 AAU National Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend. House of Speed will be taking 17 athletes to the Championships and are excited about our opportunities! House of Speed is heading into the AAU Championships already with athletes ranked in the top 5 in their events, some in multiple events. HOS currently has 4 returning All-Americans from 2022 Indoor National Championships (Thomas K, Paulina D, Dillon H and Ronald T). We’re excited about the opportunities for our athletes to achieve personal records and potential All-American status (top 8 in the country). These athletes have been working extremely hard throughout the Winter Indoor Season. Please wish them well as they go into Nationals this weekend!
On February 18-19th and February 25th and 26th, the House of Speed competed in three meets – two USATF National Invitational meets and the SYCVA Winter Rec Meet. The House of Speed did extremely well. In the Potomac Valley Association Under 14 Indoor Championships, congrats to Ronald T for achieving a personal record in the 55m running a 6.91 – ranking him amongst the top in the country. Congrats also to Paulina D (400m and 800m) and Dillon H (Long Jump) who both also achieved personal records at the PVA Championships – then came back the following week and achieved another personal record in each of their respective events! It was also exciting to have the HOS boys compete for the first time in the Sprint Medley relay and come in 4th overall. Congrats to Ronald T, Dillon H, Zachary Pe and Alex F. The following week, as a team, HOS took 15 athletes to the Legacy Invitational and competed extremely well coming home with 2 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals, and an additional 10 ribbons for 4th -6th place.
Again, congrats to the athletes who competed well into the evening with personal records achieved by almost all our athletes – including Zachary Pe, Marek M, Jonas Y, Caleb J, Paulina D, Dillon H, Leah D, Thomas K, Alex F, Aiden R, John O, Joy O, Duke O, Tyler H and Ronald T. Overall, House of Speed 13-14 Boys came in 2nd place in the meet, behind a team with over 100 athletes!!
